WHAT: The 2017 #CoboCares community programming season will include, a series of fitness, community and entertainment activities before and after work hours that will be free to the public.  The April 12 Zumba® Fitness session involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. This event is FREE to the public.

WHO: Detroit’s Ivy Mitchell, a certified International Zumba® instructor in the United States and Europe, will be leading the group in the Cobo atrium from 5PM – 7PM. After serving nine years in the United States military, Ivy started a business teaching fitness and has been a licensed Zumba® Fitness instructor since 2008. She has been voted in the Top 5 Zumba® Fitness instructors in Michigan four years in a row by WDIV. In 2016 Ivy was voted #1 in WDIV’s Vote4TheBEST.

Last summer she conducted a class at Campus Martius with participants from all over the Metro Detroit area, that included dozens of members of the Detroit Police Department. She has also been the organizer and choreographer of the Detroit Pistons Zumba Halftime Show for the past three years.

Donations of toiletries to help those in need will be collected on-site and donated to local charities.
